Rita Murstein Wohl, 80?, passed away in Northridge Hospital after a long battle with illness on November 3rd, 2011 with her family by her side. Funeral Services were held at Mt. Sinai Memorial Park in Simi Valley on Monday, November 7th. Rita was born on July 10, 1944?, in Piqua, OH to MR? and Libby Murstein. Her father was a prominent businessman in Dayton. Her mother was a great woman that lived into her 90s. Rita had two sisters, Lila and Mildred. Rita spent summers at her grandparents in remote areas of the wilderness. She graduated from Ohio State University, where she met and married Amiel Wohl. After graduation, they moved to Waco, TX where there daughter Susan was born. Mrs. Wohl was a homemaker and real estate broker while her husband was a Rabbi. She was an active member of a local Northridge writer's club and belonged to the Arboretum Foundation garden club and worked with various charities. Her interests included family, gardening, and writing. Mrs. Wohl is survived by her sister, Mildred Simon?; her ex-husband, Rabbi Amiel Wohl??; her 2 children and their spouses, Susan and Mark Vedel, Dewey and Julie Wohl; and her 4 wonderful grandchildren, Sonnik & Liberty Vedel, Levi and Tirza Wohl. Donations may be sent in her honor to the Arthritis Foundation - Hope Through Heroes Program at their website
